Why Join the

Wood Burn Society?

Come for the pyrography, stay for the wildly fun community that makes your art journey better. Whether you’re the shy artist who quietly hypes everyone up while lurking in the background, the loud-mouth enthusiast who types in all caps, the perfectionist who measures every line twice, or the chaotic burner who just “wings it” every time, we’ve got a seat for you at the table. The Wood Burn Society is where we burn things (artistically), support each other, and laugh through the creative journey.

The Burnt Art Hub

The Burnt Art Hub is a thriving community designed exclusively for wood burning artists to connect, learn, and showcase their art. With a vibrant forum, a virtual gallery, and theme challenges, the Hub is all about celebrating pyrography and pushing creative boundaries. The Burnt Art Hub will be your online hangout where your make new friends and are filled with happiness. Why are you happy? Where else can you say “I just spent three hours burning a tiny owl into a spoon” and it is met with the enthusiasm it deserves.

If your friends and family are tired of hearing about pyrography. It’s not their fault. They just don’t get it. You need a space where people actually care about shading techniques, optimal burning temperatures, and the joy of a perfectly burnt line. Here, we get it. Here, you belong.

Some of our artists are tired of the social media algorithm ignoring their art. How many times can you post your work online just for it to get 13 likes (one from your mom and weird aunt, and eleven from bots)? Meanwhile, some random video of a raccoon doing a disco dance gets 100,000 views. The Hub is a no-algorithm zone your art actually gets seen and appreciated by real humans that aren’t your family members and who understand the blood, sweat, and perfectly sanded wood that went into it.

What Our Artists Say

Learning Center

Wood burning is a journey filled with triumphs, burnt fingertips, and that one time you set off the smoke alarm at 2 AM. Whether you’re a beginner trying not to set your workspace on fire or an experienced burner leveling up your skills, we’ve got something for you.

Learn, evolve, and try not to pass out from noxious fumes from sketchy wood you found behind a dumpster. (Seriously, don’t do that.)

We have the safety tips and knowledge to help keep you alive (important!) and to start producing masterpieces while enjoying the meditative process of wood burning.

I read sanding guide article. Really it’s very helpful to me. Thanks.

Thank you very much for this advice/tip about not pressing hard on the wood. As a beginner, I find this key in my learning the art

I am very happy to have found this page of yours . . . I built a pyrography work with the image of a bullfighter named Manolete and from there I made others for friends

Virtual Museum

Ever dreamed of your wood-burning masterpiece hanging in a prestigious museum? Well, this is the internet version of that… and arguably even cooler since it will be viewed by other pyrography artists who understand your struggles and triumphs. Plus your art deserves to be admired by more than just your cat and your mom (and those social media bots). We are here to make sure your work gets the attention it deserves, “Superstar” should be your middle name.

Right now we are spotlighting “Featured Artists” within the wood burning community. We are currently accepting artwork submissions. There are no fees and it is open to local & international artists of all skill levels and any subject/style that is in good taste.

Our “Unofficial” Mission

We exist because wood burning isn’t just a technique, it’s a slightly unhinged obsession that makes our homes smell like a rustic forest fire in the best possible way. We’re here for the artists who hoard wood slices like a dragon, and who get way too excited about a perfectly burnt line. Our mission? To give pyrography the respect it deserves, to hype up artists who finally nail that gradient shading, and to create a space where “I just spent three hours burning a tiny owl into a spoon” is met with the enthusiasm it deserves. Together, we’re building a community where wood burning is not just appreciated—but celebrated like the fine art form (and mildly flammable lifestyle choice) that it is! We want artists to come for the pyrography, and stay for the wildly fun community that makes every art journey better.

Official Mission Statement

Our mission is to increase awareness and appreciation of wood burned art by helping artists publicize their work, increase their web presence, build their skills, and by giving them a vibrant community where they can connect with each other in meaningful ways.

Official Vision of the Future

Wood burned artwork would be appreciated and respected in the same manner as watercolor painting, oil painting, pen & ink, and the other traditional art techniques. Our wood burned masterpieces would be hung in the most prestigious galleries and museums for the public to enjoy. Our community of wood burning artists would be filled with many people from different backgrounds that are eager to learn the techniques and share their creativity.
